I. We live in a period of TRANSFORMATION led by the development of a new technology that emerged over sixty decades ago by the term, Artificial Intelligence.
a) A set of computer techniques based on defined and non-ambiguous, orderly and finite instructions or rules that typically solve a fast problem, make calculations with mathematical precision, process large databases and carry out other tasks or activities where computers NOW: 1) Learn from experience - to optimize processes and systems; 2) Adapt to new entries or imputs - to decrypt new solutions; 3) Complete tasks that resemble human intelligence - to streamline decision making.
II. Artificial Intelligence has advanced to various subsets that can improve automatically through experience and by the use of data (E.g. Machine Learning and/or Deep Learning).
a) Artificial intelligence, or AI, is a simulation of intelligent human behavior. It’s a computer or system designed to perceive its environment, understand its behaviors, and take action. Consider self-driving cars: AI-driven systems like these integrate AI algorithms, such as machine learning and deep learning, into complex environments that enable automation.
b) Deep learning is a machine learning technique that teaches computers to do what comes naturally to humans: learn by example. Deep learning is a key technology behind driverless cars, enabling them to recognize a stop sign, or to distinguish a pedestrian from a lamppost. It is the key to voice control in consumer devices like phones, tablets, TVs, and hands-free speakers. Deep learning is getting lots of attention lately and for good reason. It’s achieving results that were not possible before.
III. Technology is the application of scientific knowledge to the practical aims of human life or, as it is sometimes phrased, to the change and manipulation of the human environment.
IV. Transformation is COMPLETE CHANGE in the appearance or character of something or someone, especially so that that thing or person is improved. So in essence, TRANSFORMATION means COMPLETE CHANGE for IMPROVEMENT.
a) Complete is to make whole or perfect.
b) Change is to exchange one thing for another thing, especially of a similar type.
c) So the joint concept COMPLETE CHANGE means ENTIRELY MAKE DIFFERENT, ALTERNATIVE, or NEW.
INCREASINGLY, HUMAN IS AN OBSOLETE TERM. SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION AND HUMAN/TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION HAVE LED OUR KIND TO CONFUSE THE STANDARDS WITH WHICH WE PRESCRIBE OUR INTERACTIONS. LIVING IN A TRANSFORMATIVE AGE REQUIRES REPLACING OLD GENERAL AND FUNDAMENTAL VALUES WITH NEW AND IMPROVED REASONING. HOWEVER, NEW IS ONLY POSSIBLE BY BRINGING SOMETHING TO EXISTENCE; IMPROVEMENT ONLY FEASIBLE BY CONSIDERING THE PARAMETERS THAT DEFINE OUR EXISTENCE (AND SUBSISTENCE) - BY SECURING A MORE EXCELLENT OR EFFECTIVE QUALITY OF LIVING. WE (AS A SPECIES) CURRENTLY LIE BETWEEN TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT REALMS - TRYING TO PURSUE INAPPLICABLE AND ANTIQUE WAYS OF THINKING TO RISING/EVOLVING CODES. A NEW WAY OF LIFE DEMANDS NEW SOCIAL DRIVERS. BUT IN OUR CURRENT TIMES, THESE DRIVERS OUGHT TO BE UNIVERSAL, UNIFYING, INCLUSIVE AND COEXISTENT.
PROTECT THE LIVES OF YOUR DESCENDANTS; UPDATE YOUR THINKING AND ACT NOW. BECAUSE A CERTAIN TRANSFORMATION IS THE EMERGING RULE. Why? Ask yourself.
